Mark Donohue's Shelby Cobra

.

This is a 1964 Shelby 289 Cobra built from the AMT kit. This kit has been heavily re-worked to replicate the racecar driven by Mark Donohue at Virginia Internation Raceway in 1964. Most of the suspension is rebuilt with aluminum tube and parts box goodies, the rollbar and exhaust are aluminum tube, and the intake trumpets are flared aluminum tube. The windscreen, mirrors, fuel filler, hood and trunk latches, headlight bezels, dash panel, steering wheel, and inner door latches are all from a Monogram 427 Cobra. The tires are from the Revell '70 Torino Cobra, and the wheels are modified resin pieces from Replicas & Miniatures of MD. Color is PPG Ford Viking Blue and Duplicolor Classic White, the interior is Tamiya TS-29 Semi-Gloss Black, and the wheels are Model Master 1453 Magnesium Metalizer. The decals were made by "Three Amigos" in Toronto. Ontario, Cananda. Thanks to Nicholas B. Henson, Marc Cormier, Pat Redmond, Frank Kokosza, Randall Cooper and Les Smirle for the help on this project.
